Meghan Markle's Personal Assistant Quit After Just Six Months On The Job

Is trouble brewing in Buckingham Palace? A new report from The Daily Mail's royal correspondent, Richard Eden, claims Meghan Markle's personal assistant has quit after just six months on the job. Eden reports that the assistant-identified only as "Melissa," which may be a code name to protect her privacy-resigned unexpectedly.

"It’s a real shock," the Daily Mail's source claims. "Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?"

"Melissa is a hugely talented person," the source continued. "She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household."

According to the report, Melissa helped deal with all of the drama caused by Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, in the weeks leading up to the wedding. "Melissa had to deal with the traumatic build-up to Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding in May, in which the Duchess’s father, Thomas Markle, gave a running commentary to journalists on the likelihood of his attending the ceremony," Eden explains.

Dealing with the messy Markle family drama must have been pretty stressful, to be honest. Meghan's dad reportedly faked a heart attack to cover up being un-invited to the royal wedding, publicly speculated on when his daughter will have children, invoked Princess Diana's name during an interview in a gross attempt to get his daughter to talk to him, and claimed he made her what she is today. If Meghan's assistant needed a change after the high-stress job of working for the royal family, can you really blame her?

The silver lining here is that, perhaps, Meghan will be looking to replace her assistant with a new staffer. If your dream is to work for the Duchess of Sussex, you better start polishing your resume.
