A$AP Rocky Returns To Sweden, Performs In Giant Cage

A$AP Rocky's return to Sweden was nothing short of epic.

To mark his grand return to the country that imprisoned him for weeks earlier this year, the 31-year-old rapper hit the stage at Stockholm's Ericsson Globe on Wednesday (December 11) with a giant cage as one of his props (at one point during the show, Rocky even performed inside the cage), an obvious reference to his incarceration.

Despite Rocky's drama-filled history with the Scandinavian country, he preached messages of positivity, telling the crowd, per Complex, "I brought you here today for love and unity. That's why I brought you here [...] Today, there's people who were fortunate enough to buy tickets today, and to you people, I thank you for coming. [...] Today there was people who couldn't afford it, and they still made it here, and I love you people ... The whole message today: Spread love and have f**kin' fun." Rocky vowed to return to Stockholm shortly after his release from a Swedish prison, vowing to give back to the community, specifically Sweden's immigrant community, the country's inmates, and its poor population.

Ahead of his Wednesday show, the "Pups" rapper took to Instagram to call all of his fans who lived in Swedish "slums" to come to his show for free. "I'm in Stockholm right now. I’m throwing my concert, my first concert after being locked up out here," he said. "Everybody from the 'immigrant community,' what they call the 'immigrant community' out here, none of y'all got to pay to come to my show today. All y'all get in for free. Whoever come, whoever from the hood, they get in free."

As fans know, Rocky also wanted to perform for inmates at the prison where he was held, however, TMZ reported earlier this month that due to "logistical and security concerns," Sweden's Prison and Probation Service decided that the performance would not be possible. Rocky addressed the prison's decision on Twitter Monday (December 9), writing, "EVEN WHEN IM DENIED ACCESS TO DONATE OR PERFORM FOR THE INMATES IN SWEDEN I STILL WANT TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR THE IMMIGRANTS AND POOR PPL OF OUTSIDE SURROUNDING AREAS , THIS HAS BEEN A DIFFICULT JOURNEY , BUT I FEEL ITS MY TASK TO GIVE BACK TO PPL WHO SUPPORTED ME WHEN I WAS DOWN."
