Sean "Diddy" Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges in two superseding indictments, according to NBC News.
The embattled musician entered the plea while appearing in Manhattan federal court on Friday (March 14).
The superseding indictments to which Combs pleaded not guilty update two of the original indictments against him. The first expands the timeframe of the alleged criminal conduct and adds two alleged victims, according to ABC News. The second alleges that Combs forced employees to work long hours under threat of physical and reputational harm and coerced at least one employee into engaging in sex acts with him.
In a statement after the superseding indictment was filed, Combs' lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said his client "vehemently denies the accusations." He added, “He looks forward to his day in court when it will become clear that he has never forced anyone to engage in sexual acts against their will."
In addition to introducing the superseding indictments, federal prosecutors' request to begin jury selection on May 5 was approved, with the trial now tentatively set to begin on May 12. Judge Arun Subramanian also instructed attorneys to discuss whether the 2016 hotel video aired by CNN, which shows Diddy abusing his ex-girlfriend Cassie, can be used as evidence, according to NBC News. "If they can't reach a compromise," the outlet reported, "both sides will need to file motions."
Combs was arrested in September 2024 after being indicted on multiple charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. He has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty.
He is being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Correctional Center.
